WORKING METHOD

“MIA” is short for the way of working that Acts Consular Ministry use, and it simply means a target-oriented way of working. All of our counsellors are well-trained, and experienced in this method.

The aim for the individual is: To reach motivation and mental strength – to have an independent, regular and meaningful occupation. Acts Counsellor Ministry offers a basic programme, adapted to the individual, which looks like this:

1. Introduction Presentation of the basic programme of Acts Counsellor Ministry during an afternoon, with brakes including refreshments. The individual is motivated and inspired to take the next step.

2. Basic Programme The individual meets with the counsellor on four occasions for two hours. The first meeting is devoted to make a personal analysis, inventory and formulate the problem. This meeting will lead to the forming of an activity plan that is customized for the individual to help him/her to break a negative trend. The next three meetings are devoted to these activities in combination with the consular giving motivation and coaching.

3. Further needs If the individual has further needs of contributions from the acts counsellor, the four meetings of the basic programme can be extended. The most important thing is that the programme is adapted to the specific needs and of every individual.

The counsellor at Acts Counselling Ministry work as personal life coaches and helps the individual through talks and different activities that are done together. The help also mean personal inventory and social sanitation. It can also mean work practise, hobbies, outdoor activities, conversation sessions and education.
